Terms of Use

1. Parties

These terms govern use of PurlShift and form an agreement between CatSiesta LLC (“CatSiesta”) and anyone purchasing or using PurlShift (“you”). The purchase transaction is a contract between you and Paddle (section 3). CatSiesta grants the software license under these terms.

By installing or using PurlShift, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use it.

2. Product and purchase contents

PurlShift is an audio plug-in for macOS (Audio Units and VST3). Its features and specifications are on the product page and in the user manual. Prices appear on the product page and at checkout.

Your purchase includes:

  • PurlShift installer.
  • Two license files (license.lic · license.email)

The license is issued to your checkout email address. Within a few minutes of payment, an email is sent to that address with one ZIP attachment containing both license files and a link to download the installer. Installation and registration instructions are in the License Guide.

3. Orders and payment

Orders are handled by our online reseller Paddle.com, the Merchant of Record for all orders. Payment, taxes, receipts and payment data are governed by the Paddle Buyer Terms and handled by Paddle under applicable local law.

4. License

Upon completed payment, CatSiesta grants you a nonexclusive license to install and use PurlShift for personal and commercial work. The license has no time limit. The software is licensed, not sold.

  • The license is issued to your checkout email address. License files are for your own use.
  • You may install and use it on up to three computers you own or control.
  • The license is nontransferable.

5. Things to avoid

  • Using the product unlawfully or for deceptive activities such as fraud or spam.
  • Sharing, publishing, selling, renting or redistributing PurlShift (including installers and factory presets) or its license files.
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling or disassembling the software, or attempting to bypass or defeat its protections, except where expressly permitted by law.
  • Infringing CatSiesta’s or a third party’s intellectual property rights.
  • Breaching or attempting to breach the security of CatSiesta’s services, website or systems.

6. Intellectual property

Rights in the PurlShift software, documentation, names and logos, and CatSiesta material on this website belong to CatSiesta LLC. These terms do not transfer those rights to you. Third-party photographs and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Third-party components in PurlShift, including JUCE, are governed by their respective licenses. Notices are available at [Open-source notices location: website page / file in the installation].

You retain rights in the audio you input to PurlShift and the output you create with it. CatSiesta claims no rights in either. PurlShift does not transmit your audio externally; CatSiesta does not receive or store it. You are responsible for having the necessary rights to your input audio.

7. Updates and support

  • PurlShift updates are free. The next major version will be a separate product; your existing PurlShift license will remain usable afterward.
  • Update emails are sent only to customers who opt in at checkout and are limited to major updates and new versions. You may unsubscribe at any time.

8. Warranty and liability

CatSiesta does not guarantee that PurlShift will operate without interruption or errors, or work in every environment and host application. The software is provided as is.

To the extent permitted by law, CatSiesta is not liable for indirect damages, loss of data or loss of business arising from use of or inability to use PurlShift. This exclusion does not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including intentional misconduct, gross negligence or consumer protection rights where you live.

9. Termination

CatSiesta may terminate the license after notice if:

  • You violate section 5 or share or redistribute license files.
  • Payment is not completed, is reversed or is charged back.
  • The purchase was made fraudulently.

A refund ends the license (Refund Policy, section 5). Upon termination or expiry, you must stop using PurlShift and delete the installed software and license files.

10. Refunds

Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy.

11. Privacy

Processing of your information is governed by the Privacy Policy.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. This does not reduce consumer protection rights under the laws where you live.

13. Changes to these terms

Changes will be published here with a new effective date. Each purchase is governed by the terms in effect when it was made.
